Purpose - This paper explores the relationship between Sustainable Strategic Orientation (SSO) and youth entrepreneurship in Bangladesh, particularly the balancing of social and profit aspects.
Methodology - The research design was quantitative and cross-sectional, involving a survey of 184 youth entrepreneurs (aged 18-35) in Bangladesh. Data were examined using SPSS and the PROCESS macro, including hierarchical regression and moderation tests to test a sequence of hypotheses regarding the direct, curvilinear, and moderated relationships between SSO.
Findings - The findings validate the positive relationship between SSO and social impact. Although the perceived trade-offs had an adverse effect on profitability, access to mission-aligned funding and the strategic application of digital technology were revealed as essential positive moderators, enhancing the positive association between SSO and venture performance (both social and financial).
Implications and Value - This study offers an original contextual model for understanding sustainable entrepreneurial undertaking in a developing economy. The research provides exclusive insights into the strategic issues and opportunities for one of the demographics vital to the country's sustainable development: the Bangladeshi youth.
